The Freedom Prize Blog

We need to work together to solve America’s oil dependency. Here’s where we’ll be sharing insights, commentary, and the latest news from the Freedom Prize Foundation and our guest bloggers. We’ll tell you what we’re doing to launch the Freedom Prizes and what we’re learning about technologies, strategies, and creative policies that are being used today to reduce our dependence on oil. And we’ll pose questions for all of us to consider as we seek energy independence for the good of our nation’s economy, health, and security.

Welcome to the Freedom Prize Blog!

If you’ve spent some time exploring our site, you know we launched in Washington, DC over the summer and have exciting things planned.

We invite you and/or your organization to compete for cash awards (prizes) by helping our country reduce our dependence on oil! You will be hearing soon about how to get involved.

We’ll talk in future posts about the reason we are excited specifically about Prizes. Perhaps you may know other prize models such as the X Prize, Innocentive, the Nobel Prize, and others. The Freedom Prizes have their own unique characteristics and are also similar to other prize models you may have heard about.

Stay tuned for more. Until then, we’re interested in hearing your stories about reducing oil dependence in your schools, communities, cities, places of work, or on your military base.

What are your experiences in learning about, measuring, or reducing your oil consumption?

Who do you know working on oil dependence reduction at your workplace, school, community, city, or in the military?

You will be hearing from us on some conferences we have been attending, experts on prizes we have been speaking with, and information we come across which informs our work. We hope to hear from you!
